Decolonizing Psychoanalytic Technique: From Repressed Histories to Pragmatic Practices

Saturday, February 3rd from 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM PST

This presentation will review the oft-ignored history of decolonial thinking among global south psychoanalysts going back to the inception of the field, and derive from it a series of clinical principles for psychotherapeutic practice today. These clinical principles, read through the work of revolutionary psychiatrist Frantz Fanon, help us connect therapeutic action to political action off the couch and in the streets.
